Diamond grinders are used generally for the grinding of flat horizontal dry surfaces that are typically concrete or asphalt with or without coatings. The diamond size or tungsten grit size can be varied to perform a wide range of jobs.
Applications include:
> Grinding of plain floors, be they rough, semi rough or smooth.
> Levelling of uneven surfaces, joints etc,
> Grinding of painted floors
> Removal of carpet glue ( See photo on left)
The more uneven the floor the more you miss, or the more you have to grind to achieve an acceptable floor. An average grind for a double headed grinder would only be around 500 sq/metres per day. We often diamond grind a floor to remove height irregularities then shot-blast it afterwards to texture the areas missed by grinding. This obviously costs more but will improve the appearance of the finished coated floor.
